Week 1: (November 2-6) – Your Year in Nonfiction (Leann @ Shelf Aware): Take a look back at your year of nonfiction and reflect on the following questions – What was your favorite nonfiction read of the year? Do you have a particular topic you’ve been attracted to more this year? What nonfiction book have you recommended the most? What are you hoping to get out of participating in Nonfiction November?
So part of the reason I decided to join in with Non-Fiction November this year was because I am attracted to non-fiction books, and I buy them, and I look at them… and then I never read them. I have a whole shelf full of TBR non-fiction.
I’m cringing even at the thought of checking my LibraryThing to see what exactly I have read this year, but here goes:
Solutions and Other Problems by Allie Brosh
So Many Books by Gabriel Zaid
Playing to the Gallery by Grayson Perr
The Phantom Prince: My Life With Ted Bundy by Elizabeth Kendall
Surrounded By Idiots: The Four Types of Human Behaviour by Thomas Erikson
Home Cooking by Laurie Colwin
Okay, so that’s about six books more than I expected! It’s not really indicative of my usual interests in non-fiction though. I tend to go for medical history or mental health books, or art books, and only two of the above really fit into that area.
How many nonfiction books have you read this year?
