Reading: Theoretically, Blackout by Mira Grant. It’s the third installment of the Newsflesh series, preceeded by FEED and Deadline. In reality, I’m picking it up, reading two pages and then putting it back down to play a Pokemon knock-off on my iPad.
I can’t decide if it’s because I’m in a funny mood this weekend or because it’s actually not very good. I didn’t get on all that well with Deadline, so I suspect I’m projecting the flaws of that book onto this one. It’s not really fair, but hey ho. Time to go level my Finleon.
Wearing: A dress with a skeleton on it. Apparently I still think it’s Halloween.
Eating: Nothing that I’ve managed to keep down. I did see an amazing-looking Dominos pizza at Book Addicted Blonde earlier though and now I’m pretty much desperate to order takeaway.
Planning: Trying to avoid planning anything, really. I’m not really feeling too great – a little bit mopey and slightly sorry for myself. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll completely survive but I’m not really in the mood for my 50 million projects. I’m planning to chaim myself to my laptop until I can hash out a review later and I’ve managed to organise my wardrobe, planned next week’s Cubs program and arranged to ingratiate myself with the job I’d like… but that’s it.
Don’t worry, I’ll pull myself together by Monday.
Feeling: I really need to start reading ahead for these questions… See above.
Thinking: About a job I’ve applied for that I really do want an awful lot. It’s the sort of thing that I’d considered doing before, but you have to be a solicitor/barrister for five years first… which I’m not. This would be an entry into the profession without actually having to practice first. Vague, I know.
I’m not sure how much chance I have, but I put a lot of effort into the application and it wouldn’t be just a job for me. I actually want to do this.
In January, when I’m down to my target, I’m definitely going to treat myself and I can’t wait!
